Please arrive at the pool 15 minutes
BEFORE the start of WARM-UP
This allows everyone time to find their
way to the pool, get organized, and ready to swim.
Coaches also need to hand in a "scratch
sheet" prior to the start of the meet. If swimmers are
arriving late (without informing the coach in advance), the child will
be "scratched" from, or taken out of, the meet and will NOT
be put back into the meet.
Come Prepared! DOUBLE UP!!! **(You never
know what might happen to a pair of goggles, etc)
Be sure to pack the following in your
swim bag (Label all items!):
Team bathing suit
2 Team Caps
2 Goggles
2 full water bottles
2 towels
Clothes to wear on the pool deck
ONE light, healthy snack
Dry clothes to wear home
Team Bags are to be kept by the swimmer
on the pool deck, NOT in the stands or in the locker rooms.
NO visiting spectator stands or Snack Bar
without PERMISSION from Coach.
It is very important that the Coaches
know where their swimmers are at all times. We do not want any
swimmers missing their events simply because they left the deck
without the coach knowing.
Swimmers are not to leave the meet
until their have spoken with the Coaches.
For YMCA meets, we compete as a team,
and therefore find in the best interest of the swimmers and the team
as a whole, that every swimmer remain on the pool deck until the
meet is over.
For USA Swimming meets, once the
swimmer is done with their last event, and has checked with the
Coach for relay assignments, they may leave with permission from the
Coaches
Parents are not allowed on the pool deck
during a meet. **(unless volunteering to work)
The team area will be designated by an
NCY Team banner, so it will be very clear as to where your child is to
report to.
If a problem arises, we will get you if
need be.
Each swimmer is seeded in the meet by
time.
The heats will be arranged according to
these times, so that swimmers will be competitive with the other
swimmers they are racing in their respective heats.
Swimmers will be entered in their best
times.
Often times, meet entries are due a
month prior to the meet. We enter the child according to the
times they have done at the point the entries are due.
We do not expect swimmers to achieve a
best time every single race. Often, we are working on new skills
which will benefit in the end. Every swim has something done
right!
Cheer!
Be excited for the swimmers, & Have fun! GO NCY!!!!!
